Drawing Life is my online sketchbook journal and blog. My sketches form the basis for my painting work and are fundamental to my drawing practise.
These sketches often trigger thoughts about life and living and so the writing is something of an extension to the images.
I usually work in a small moleskine journal, but if it is not with me then I will work with what ever lies at hand. I experiment with a variety of ink pens for the drawings and I use ink and watercolor washes to colour. All the sketches are done on location but the washes are sometimes done later.
My sketchbooks are reflections of domestic living, incorporating both the personal and the communal aspects of contemporary lives.
